Location Search

Today J.D. and I went looking for location's in Galisteo, New Mexico, which is about twenty miles South of Santa Fe, and I'm pleased to report we had great success! Our first stop was a house on a property called Goose Downs Farm that we had seen listed on the New Mexican Film Office's website. We were a little bit worried because the family living there didn't know we were coming, but they were incredibly hospitable and even excited about the prospect of having a film shot at their home. And the best part: they only asked for a copy of the DVD! Next we drove down the road a bit and approached another house. This one is owned by a real life Monty (but actually his name is Doc). As it turns out, Doc's house had caught another set of eyes. The movie "The Killer Inside Me" starring Casey Affleck (which happens to also be a neo-noir) had filmed there in 2009. Both of these locations are great in their own ways, so which one will be used in "One Way Home" is really a matter of deciding between aesthetic and practicality. With our interior location already locked down and with the last location only a matter of choice, "One Way Home" has taken another step to becoming a reality.
